Begins
Time to
spring forward. Daylight savings time begins Sunday, April 3rd. Now
is the time to decide how your station(s) will respond. We've got a handy on-line
resource to aid in your decision.
Welcome to Our First Issue of 2005
I just wanted to take a moment and invite you to read up on the many new features and product enhancements that have been going into CDS. George and the crew have been very busy integrating exciting new technologies into CDS such as Telos/Axia Livewire and CobraNet audio distribution and delivery via TCP/IP.
Have you noticed we've implemented new drop and drag features? It is now easier than ever to search for a cart, preview it, and drag and drop it right into the play list or cart deck. Setting up Hot Keys has become a breeze using
drag and drop... No more typing in IDs, just click
away!
Now for something really exciting; it's called Smart Promo. You will see, no better yet, you will all hear how great this feature really is for those of you delivering local music via a music log to your listening audience. Once you start using this hot new feature, your listeners (better yet, your competitors) will take note and wonder how you are doing it. It's really that good! (ed: Read more about Smart Promo and hear a demo below.)
Check-out our new BlackBox digital audio logger. It is definitely THE standard for audio logging and so much more...
A big "thanks" to those of you who have given us many great suggestions that inspire us to continue to make improvements that benefit all of our users and make CDS even better... bit by bit, feature by feature.
I certainly hope to see many of you at the NAB2005 convention in Las Vegas. I know that all of us here at Pristine Systems enjoy shaking hands with our extended family of users. We anticipate a great show, and winning another Cool Stuff Award!

Digital
Audio Logger, Monitor and Alert System
Pristine Systems is proud to introduce the latest addition to our family of innovative broadcast product. BlackBox is more than just another digital audio logger. While others were rushing to meet suspected FCC mandatory logging requirements (that have yet to materialize), we decided to create a product that stations would want regardless. BlackBox not only provides reliable 24-7 audio logging, but includes tools to actually help improve your stations on-air product!
If you thought version 2.1 had many new, useful features, wait until you see version 3.0. We've added some amazing new technology that you won't find anywhere else.
...our
new "Smart
Promo" feature will
literally
have your competitors pulling their hair out... ![]()
Recently discussed in Radio World Magazine, our new "Smart Promo" feature will literally have your competitors pulling their hair out if they want to complete with your CDS PRO music system. In just a few seconds, Smart Promos can automatically produce professional sounding "Coming up next" style promos that will take the other guys hours to produce daily. We've uploaded an example of a Smart Promo for you to hear just how effective they are. Give it a listen now: http://www.pristinesys.com/temp/promo.mp3

We're
ready when you are!Pristine Systems protects your technology investment through continuous product development. The result is a steady stream of timely updates delivered as part of your software support program.
Service Pack 2 is an essential upgrade for security and stability reasons. We encourage you to install it on your Windows XP workstations now. According to Microsoft TechNet, time is running out to upgrade to service pack 2! The ability to temporarily disable delivery of Windows XP SP2 is only available until April 12, 2005. After this time Windows XP SP2 will be delivered to all Windows XP and Windows XP Service Pack 1 systems.
"Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) contains major security improvements designed to provide better protection against hackers, viruses, and worms. Windows XP SP2 also improves the manageability of the security features in Windows XP and provides more and better information to help users make decisions that may potentially affect their security and privacy. Because of these significant improvements, Microsoft views Windows XP SP2 as an essential security update and is therefore distributing it as a “critical update” via Windows Update (WU) and the Automatic Updates (AU) delivery mechanism in Windows. Microsoft strongly urges customers with Windows XP and Windows XP Service Pack 1-based systems to update to Windows XP SP2 as soon as possible."

In order to be effective, Anti-Virus software must be checked updates often (we recommend daily). When the manufacturer releases an update or patch, you should apply it immediately. You should also do the same with any Windows updates that become available. The reason is that once these updates are release to the public, they become immediate available to any low-life who has nothing better to do than cause someone else trouble. Virus writers will analyze these updates themselves to learn of new vulnerabilities. Anyone who fails to install Windows updates promptly becomes a target whenever new updates are released.
